I LOVE LOVE LOVE long weekends. I really do. Whether my long weekend be busy with so much stuff to do we don't stop...or it could be completely dull and boring with nothing to do...I just plain love them. But this weekend I realized that I also hate them...haha! Weird...
I had nothing to do all weekend really. John was working ALL weekend (booo urns) and I was home for the most part by my lonesome (which was not the bad part here). I don't mind being home by myself...I don't even mind having nothing to do...in fact sometimes I kind of like being home by my self with nothing going on. I can kick back, have a coffee (or 6) and watch whatever I want to watch on TV, rent whatever movie I want to rent, go on the computer, read a book or whatever...it's really kind of a nice change of pace once in a while...although I will admit that I do prefer to have my "fiancee" [still getting used to that word...trying to implement it here and there but I feel silly...lol..] home with me! Anyways...this weekend was just so relaxing that I am most likely boring you with this post. Saturday...I watched TV ALL day and then John and I went to BP for some supper...we rented movies both Friday and Saturday night and when Sunday morning came I was more than happy to repeat my lazy Saturday.
Here is what I mean by my hating the long weekend: I dread going to work after a long weekend...probably more so if it's a quiet relaxing weekend. I know it's silly because I actually thoroughly enjoy my job and the people I work with so its totally silly...but on Monday night I kept thinking "just one more lazy day...I don't wanna go back yet". Like 3 days totally spoiled me. When I go on Vacation I don't really feel this way...its just when I have a longer than usual weekend.
Now heres where it gets REALLY interesting...this morning was our typical bi-weekly staff meeting and I am pretty sure everyone was feeling the same way as me but we were all keeping it to ourselves...my manager speaks up and says "how would everyone feel about only working 4 days a week?" so of course we all thought "haha..very funny...that is a cruel joke". But it seems that he has mentioned it before and would be VERY much up for it IF he could get the board to pass it. Which I am doubting would ever happen!!! But my fingers will be crossed in high hopes that maybe someday down the road it WILL happen...BUT will EVERY weekend then be like the long ones where I don't wanna go to work the next day?? maybe I'll never know...
