Well things are going well in the wedding planning process. Everything coming along nicely. John and I spent today searching for our wedding bands. I went to James Bradshaw the goldsmith http://www.jamesbradshawgoldsmith.com/ in downtown Halifax. He is going to design one that will fit my engagement ring perfectly. It sounds like a pretty interesting process...he takes my ring for a few hours, sets it in a wax substance and builds a mould. From this he creates a ring that will look and sit beautifully with the diamond. I am so excited to see the finished product. I bring my engagement ring in this week on Wednesday and then he'll get to work on it. I am VERY excited. I've seen his work before...and not just the pieces in his gallery. My friend, Heather Crosby-Gionet had her wedding band designed by him and it is beautiful. She highly reccommended him.
John went to Ben Moss to get his. His is VERY nice. It took a while for him to decide on one as he really wanted something super plain and simple. He tried on a few, then a few more and even though he had some nice ones on with diamonds or fancy engraving he just didn't like them as much as the simple wedding band. In his words "this plain band looks more like I am married" hahaha! So he got what he wanted exactly. And it is VERY nice. Its the Romeo and Juliette collection and its brushed white gold. The sample ring had engraving on the outside of it but we decided to write a little love message message to each other on the inside of our bands. So we think of a message to put on the inside (a small one of course) and then we get each others rings engraved with the little message and we don't see what the other wrote to one another until our wedding day. We thought it would be a kinda cute added bonus. So now I have until close of buisness tomorrow to think of a message to John to engrave on his ring that he will wear foreve...I am totally stumped and am feeling the pressure now...haha! So I am brainstorming now....hmmmm....how about "I love you more than a fat kid loves cake"? hahaha....just kiddin!
Anyways...we are very excited!
Other things are coming along nicely as well. The planning process is going well....sometimes stressful but things will come along well and it will be perfect no matter what since I am marrying my best friend.
I will be ordering my dress in the next couple of weeks. Mom and hopefully Lauren will be coming up and then we'll put the order through...I'll get to ring the first of the wedding bells at Winchesters soon enough. The meeting with our caterer is also coming up. He had originally asked to meet us this coming monday at 3pm but John and I both work and although I could probably manage to get off and meet him at that time I don't think John could and I really think this is something we should decide on together (meal type, size, style and of course price). So we are now trying to find a time that will work for our schedules. I'll keep u posted as to what we decide.
As soon as spring comes we are going to get some engagement pictures done as well. I am hoping to have the very talented Heather Crosby-Gionet take them for us. http://www.thisisphotography.ca/ Her work is amazing and she is currently trying to make this buisness her full time gig so it will be great to support her work as well...and she really does take amazing shots.
Anyways...I guess that is it for now...just thought I'd post something as it as been quite a while.
Hope all is well with everyone...

Hey! Two mentions in one post! I must be pretty special!!! I am so excited things are coming together for you! and I hope that the binder is working for ya ;)
Jim Bradshaw does great work and I am sure you will be pleased. The wax form of the ring was kind of weird but very cool so you could see what it would look like before you got it made! Thanks for the support! xoxo
