The beginning of a 3 part post - THANKSGIVING WEEKEND

WOW! I am sooooo crazy behind in this blog - I really should be ashamed of myself ;) haha! But well, what can I say - being a mommy can be BUSY! Let's see, I am now 2 weekends behind on posting so let's go back to Thanksgiving weekend (Octobver 7th to 10th). We travelled home to Nova Scotia that Saturday morning! Our first stop was Milord where  Forrest (and John and I) were invited to Benjamin's 1st birthday party. We had a lot of fun at the party - especially Forrest who enjoyed being around all the other kids and playing with all the toys!
After the birthday party we went to Chester to spend some time with Amber and James and little Hayden who is growing up very fast and getting cuter with every day (as if one would think it could even be possible to get any cuter). We had a nice visit and Amber wanted me to take some family photos for them and since I am ALWAYS looking for practice I jumped at the chance! I posted a couple from our little shoot below.  After a visit with the McD's we made our way to New Ross to see Nanny and Grandad! We had a great supper with Janet and Rick and Forrest of course enjoyed all snuggles and play time. Nannie and Grandad have tonnes of toys for him to play with at their house so Forrest was in his element! The next day was Sunday so we all headed up to the Camp in East Dalhousie) for our annual Thanksgiving Day celebrations. Thanksgiving is a very important holiday to John's family - one we all gather together for and have our family crib and washer toss tournaments - since the passing of John's Nanny it has become a memorial tournament in her memory. It's always a fun time at camp for thanksgiving and this year it was very special because our little man got to be part of an annual family tradition (of course he didn't compete in the tournament yet but I know the time will come all too soon when he will be kicking my butt in washer toss).
Sunday after the big tournament, dinner and some quality family time we went to my Dad and Ivy's for more quality family time! We got up on Thanksgiving Monday morning and had a great time spending the day together! We had a delicious turkey dinner and Forrest enjoyed playing at his Papa and Nana's house! He even tried on his Halloween costume and got some pictures taken by the big pumpkin. We got on the road in the early afternoon as this time of year it is dangerous to drive on the New Brunswick highways at dusk - A LOT of moose seem to hit cars this time of year!
It was a very special Thanksgiving this year because it was Forrest's first Thanksgiving! I took some time to reflect on all that I am thankful for and I feel so blessed! I am thankful for my family and friends and of course my super supportive and loving husband and my sweet little boy! I feel like the luckiest woman alive!!!
