Our 20 week appointment went very well. Dr. H said I was right on track for weight gain and my blood pressure was great. We discussed the pregnancy and Dr. H also shared some stories about his wife and their pregnancy which is cool-its nice to chat with other expecting parents-it's even better when one happens to be your own doctor. He gave me the paper work for my blood glucose test which I will ahve done at 24-28 weeks. And we also discussed the ultarsound and that wonderful experience. Then came to the best part-hearing the heart beat! If you remember, the last time Dr. H had a hard time finding it and we only heard it for a brief moment before Baby moved and we had lost that magical sound. I was a little nervous that would be the case again today. Even though I can feel baby kicking and thriving in me, I still love to hear his/her heartbeat-its music to my ears. He put the gel on the doppler, literally just touch the doppler to my belly and then turned it on and immediately without even having to move the doppler we heard that beautfiul heartbeat loud and clear and strong. Ahhh...perfection!! Best feeling in the world is to hear that strong little heartbeat and feel baby moving inside (which he/she has been doing A LOT of lately). The baby's heartbeat was 150 BPM.
Everything is going well and I am absolutely loving being pregnant-no wonder so many women do this again and again ;) I actually feel better pregnant than before I was pregnant-haha! I will say that I have started to get some lower back pain-this sorta concerns me since I am only 20 weeks. We were out and about yesterday and I had to end the day my back hurt so bad! I've been putting a pillow behing my back while sitting watching TV and that sorta helps! It's all so very worth it though and if thats the only thing I am complaining about than I'm pretty lucky!
