How I Met The Love of my Life...(TAT)

Thought I'd start participating in (Growing Up Geeky) Melissa's Toddle Along Tuesday as part of my 2013 resolutions. This week's topic is "how you met your significant other".
So here goes...
John and I met in February 2004. My girlfriends and I were headed to Daytona Beach Florida on a bus trip for Spring Break. We were young and ready for fun in the sun. John and some of his friends also happened to be on the same bus trip with the same intentions. My group of girls hung out with his group of guys a lot but John and I were nothing more than friends for months and months. We just hung out, had fun and laughed. We all had a fun week in Daytona and kept in touch after the trip. I will admit though that I kinda suspected he had a bit of a crush after months went by (haha). And I knew I was starting to feel more for him after a while. So in September of 2004 John offered to walk me home from a down town Halifax Bar when he told me that he liked me and he thought that we should "give it a go". It didn't take long for us to start dating and things got pretty serious pretty fast. By July of 2005 John and I had both graduated University and were heading to Seoul, South Korea to teach English as a second language. This was a huge step we took in our relationship and really quite fast as not only were we moving to the other side of the world to submerse ourselves in a new culture but we were also moving in together for the first time. I remember at the airport John's Dad said to us "well this will make or break you guys" and boy was he right. While it wasn't always easy we had the time of our lives and learned so much about each other in that year we spent in Korea. We experienced so many amazing things together and leaned on each other for support during times of home sickness or frustration with the language or culture barrier.
Not a day goes by where I don't thank my lucky stars for taking that trip to Daytona. At the time I thought I met a sweet new friend but little did I know how truly beautiful he would make my life.
